Antoni Tapies (Born 1923)

Antoni Tapies is a Catalan painter. He started out studying law, but began to paint in 1946 and went to Paris in 1950. He acknowledged as one of the leading Spanish abstract painters. He incorporated common materials such as clay, marble dust, and strings to his paintings.
